My worst enemy

“Make sure your worst enemy doesn’t live between your two ears.” – Laird Hamilton

Ever since the movie ‘North Shore’ I knew Laird Hamilton was cool.  I know in the movie, his character wasn’t cool, but he was cool.  And somehow he looks the same now as he did then?  How did he pull that off?  I digress.  Man, he is right on with the phrase above.  I am my own worst enemy.  I was just thinking about this yesterday, in regards to Sparkling Water, but more on that later.  This is just a quick ‘Journal’ entry.  I am going to have to bring the pepper scale back down if I don’t get my act together.  Instead of withdrawing (what I usually do), I am throwing it out at you guys.

I don’t know why I make this so hard, but I am off to turn things around, I will check in soon.

P.S.  My favorite line from that movie:  ‘Nobody listens to Turtle’.

3 Thoughts to “My worst enemy”

  1. This is definitely something I think about from time to time. How do I continue making progress in my own life without allowing self doubt to creep in. It’s definitely something I am working on but something that I haven’t yet conquered 🙂

  2. Mental toughness is something I focus on from week to week and it’s been a piece of my development for a few years now. Mediation and relaxing seems to help me.

I also think reading and being distracted definitely helps the nerves and with any self-doubt.

    Thanks for sharing TTT 🙂

  3. Good quote. It reminds me of my two favorite rules:

    Rule #1: people are stupid.
Rule #2: Never forget YOU are people.
